Genre: Documentary
A BBC programme made before the invasion of Iraq, in which historian Beveley Milton Edwards argues as to whether it was the fault of the western powers, and Britain especially, that the state of Iraq was forcibly constructed in the first instance.
She argues that such interference in a state can never work.....
This is an informative documentary on the relatively short history of Iraq, it's leaders, and the reasons for the setting up of the state as we know it today, and the subsequent revolution, followed by the miltary coup led by Saddam Hussein.
Beverley Milton-Edwards' argument is backed by politicians such as Tony Blair, who postulate "evolution", not "revolution."
