Total Recorder - программа для записи с практически любого источника звука - линейного входа, CD, DVD, микрофона или, например, интернет-радиостанций или телефонных бесед через Интернет. Можно записывать все, что проигрывается медиаплеероми - RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, Quick Time, WinAmp или любым другим, а также записать музыку из игры или любой другой программы. Запись звука происходит в WAV или mp3-файлы; есть встроенный планировщик заданий и опция конвертации "старых" аудиофайлов (вроде .*AU) в WAVE для их дальнешйего преобразования в mp3

Audio Restoration Add-on
The Total Recorder Audio Restoration Add-on can be used to remove distortions such as clicks, crackles, and background noise, and provides high-quality restoration of audio recorded from LPs, tapes, microphones, etc.
This add-on adds the following menu items to the Total Recorder menu:
Process => Audio Restoration => Click Removal Shows/hides the Click Removal Window.
Process => Audio Restoration => Noise Removal Shows/hides the Noise Removal Window.
Process => Audio Restoration => Hiss Removal Shows/hides the Hiss Removal Window.
Help => Audio Restoration Help Launch the Audio Restoration Add-on Help.
Click Removal is designed to remove and minimize short clicks and crackles that are often found in audio recordings made from LPs. The Click Removal module is not intended to remove long "scratch" noises. However, it can remove short scratches not exceeding 3 ms. in length.
Noise Removal is designed to minimize or fade stationary background noise with a constant level and frequency, such as tape or microphone hiss, powerline noise, or a drive motor hum. The Noise Removal algorithm is not intended to remove non-stationary background noise, such as quiet background speech or the sound of running water.
Hiss Removal is designed to remove and minimize background hiss that is typically found in tape, LP, and possibly microphone recordings. This algorithm does not require a sample of pure noise (noiseprint). You can use this module when your recording does not contain fragments of pure noise, or when the application of
Noise Removal is not satisfactory. The Hiss Removal algorithm is not intended to remove non-stationary background noise (e.g. quiet background speech, sound of running water, etc.) or noise other than a typical hiss (e.g. powerline noise, drive motor hum of equipment, etc).

Total Recorder Automatic Gain Control and Speech Enhancement Addon v1.0 Regged
The Total Recorder Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and Speech Enhancement Add-on is a multi-purpose program with a number of unique features designed to enhance the recording and playback of the spoken word. Version 1.0 of this add-on requires Total Recorder Version 5.2 or higher. The main features of this add-on are listed below.
Controlling the Sound Level
The AGC add-on is designed to control the sound level of speech recording during playback and recording. The add-on does not use the system mixer to modify the sound level. All adjustments are made within the add-on using digital algorithms.
Correcting the Dynamic Range of Sound
The add-on allows for sophisticated correction of the dynamic range of sounds. For instance, it can perform the functions of Compressor, Limiter, Noise Gate, and more. The add-on's user-friendly graphic interface allows you to adjust precisely the dynamic range modification envelope. Changes being made are displayed on a graph of input vs. output levels. For those users who are not familiar with detailed adjustments of the dynamic range modification envelope, this add-on offers a variety of different presets. You can use a preset as is, or you can use it as a base and then adjust the settings.
Using a Voice Activity Detector to Skip Audio Fragments
A built-in Voice Activity Detector (VAD) will skip audio fragments that do not contain voice data during audio processing. This greatly improves the accuracy of the add-on's performance on voice recordings because fragments of pure background noise do not affect the algorithm's performance. For example, if VAD is activated, the add-on does not increase the recording level (and correspondingly, the noise) during long pauses as most AGC algorithms will.
Enhancing Speech Recordings by Suppressing Background Noise
Another unique function is the automatic suppression of background noise in voice recordings. This function can either be used separately or together with AGC. For example, you can use the add-on to apply only noise suppression to a voice recording.
This add-on adds the following menu items to the Total Recorder menu:
Process => AGC and Speech Enhancement. Show / Hide AGC and Speech Enhancement Window.
Help => AGC and Speech Enhancement Add-on Help. Launch the AGC and Speech Enhancement Add-on Help.
