There is a WGA check on installation, but there are several workarounds. Here is one that i found myself and worked very good:
---------------------------------
WGA workaround: WinRAR needed!
-Extract installer (mpsetup.exe)
-run wmp11.exe in folder (not setup_wm.exe)
-restart your pc,
-run three other exe's in extracted folder (not setup_wm.exe)
---------------------------------
Test if it works, if not: do this:
-Rename wmplayer.exe in C:program FilesWindows Media Player to something else,
-Extract wmp11.exe (already in your first extracted folder), and
-copy wmplayer.exe from that folder to your program files folder

Исходя из этих рекомендаций и с учетом WGA настало время переезжать в подполье, imho [/HIDE]

Скачанный файл WMP11-RUS устанавливаем в C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player. Затем отправляем WMP11-RUS в качестве ярлыка на рабочий стол. При нажатии на этот ярлык будет работать русский интерфейс Windows Media Player 11, а ярлык тот, что в программах на английском.

Установил этот руссик по инструкциям.
Всё работает, но если открывать видео или музыкальные файлы через контекстное меню правой клавиши мышки, то интерфейс плеера остаётся английским.

Я немного переделал выше выложенный файл руссификатора и теперь его можно установить на немецкие версии XP. Инструкция по установке не изменилась.
Повторяю этот файл только для немецких версиий XP

741, может имелось в виду, что там 4826, а сейчас гуляет уж 4827....

Вот и захотелось..
Хотя почему-то уверен, что разница в функционале, а не интерфейсе, так что имхо из 11-го поста действительно втанет

Скачал с офсайта WMP 11 но Genuine Advantage не разрешает установку.
Пришлось заново ломать Windows Genuine Advantage. В результате обновления для загрузки доступны, НО, WMP 11 при установке валидацию почемуто так и не проходит :confused:
