Novell SUSE Linux 9.1

24 апреля началась отгрузка Novell SUSE Linux 9.1 на прилавки Германии, а на ftp.suse.com появилась Live-CD версия 9.1. В состав версии Linux, которую готовила SUSE уже вместе со специалистами Novell, вошли:

Kernel 2.6.4 с обновленными SATA и libdata драйверами из 2.6.5 и интегрированным SELinux, glibc-2.3.3 с поддержкой NPTL, gcc-3.3.3, KDE 3.2.1, GNOME 2.4, OpenOffice 1.1.1, Samba-3.0.2a, perl-5.8.3, MySQL-4.0.18, PostgreSQL-7.4.2 и очень сильно обновленный и оптимизированный модуль управления всей системой - YaST/YaST2.

.u.S.E. Linux - один из самых популярных в Европе. Родной язык - немецкий, переведен (вместе с подробным руководством) на английский, французский, итальянский и испанский

Дистрибутив имеет очень хорошую программу установки и администрирования YaST2, включает в себя более 800 пакетов. Есть возможность включения автоматического обновления пакетов.

roci, Community - это версия RC2. Я тоже в своё время обрадовалься, когда вышел Mandrake 10 Community edition.
А через 1.5 месяца вышла версия Mandrake 10 final.
